(October 20th, 2009) - Linoma Software [now HelpSystems] is proud to announce that its GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution has been validated to run on IBM System p and System z platforms.
Linoma worked with IBM through a special program, named Chiphopper, for the validation testing of GoAnywhere. Through the Chiphopper program, IBM provided Linoma's engineers with the equipment, software and technical resources that were needed for this project. As a result, Linoma was able to verify that GoAnywhere operates on Linux and AIX operating systems for the IBM System p platform, as well as Linux on the System z (mainframe) platform without any adverse effects to functionality or performance.
GoAnywhere is a J2EE application and has been widely used by customers across a spectrum of platforms, including IBM System i, Windows and Linux on Intel. "We were fairly confident that GoAnywhere would run on IBM's Linux and AIX environments, since GoAnywhere was designed from the ground-up as an OS-neutral solution. Now that we have IBM's Chiphopper mark, our GoAnywhere MFT solution can be marketed to an even broader base of customers," says Bob Luebbe - Chief Architect for Linoma Software [now HelpSystems].
With GoAnywhere, customers can connect to the database and file systems on their IBM servers and other systems for retrieving, transforming, encrypting, compression and distributing data through a managed environment. It provides an audited and secured approach to file movement, which is critical to meeting today's stringent compliance requirements.
About the GoAnywhere Solution
The GoAnywhere managed file transfer suite is comprised of two products: GoAnywhere Director and GoAnywhere Services.
GoAnywhere Director streamlines and manages data movement through an innovative centralized approach. It allows organizations to connect to almost any system (internal or external) and securely exchange data using a wide variety of standard protocols, including FTP, SFTP (SSH), FTPS (SSL or TLS), HTTP/s, JDBC, Open PGP and SMTP.
GoAnywhere Services allows trading partners and employees to securely connect to your organization and easily retrieve or upload files. Popular file transfer and encryption standards are supported without the need for proprietary client software.
