This integrated service provides enterprise-grade file acceleration for moving large data quicky from anywhere in the world.  Highlights of FileCatalyst Service include:

Speed and Compression

  • File transfer speed up to 10 times faster (or more)  than SFTP, FTPS or HTTP

Logging

Audit trails (logs) are generated for all FileCatalyst  sessions to meet auditing and compliance requirements. This detail includes commands issued, messages, IP addresses, user IDs, and file names transferred. Log messages can additionally be sent to a SYSLOG server using UDP or TCP connections. 

High Availability Planning

When it comes to file transfers, it’s critical that organizations are able to complete them without disruption. Businesses can choose from either active-passive or active-active high availability plans.

Active-active plan failure downtime is most commonly zero because there is always a backup system that can take over in a moment of system failure. These high-availability plans can help organizations minimize and avoid downtime, meet SLAs, and increase user satisfaction. 

GoAnywhere Gateway Reverse Proxy

GoAnywhere’s Gateway provides an additional layer of security when exchanging data with your trading partners. It allows you to keep file sharing services (e.g. FileCatalyst, FTP/S, SFTP, HTTP/S servers) and documents safe in your private/internal network. No inbound ports need to be opened into your private network, which is essential for compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA, HITECH, SOX, GLBA, and state privacy laws.

FAQs

FileCatalyst solutions use multiple acceleration techniques to deliver speedy file transfers. FileCatalyst is a UDP-based protocol, which makes transferring large data sets much faster, even in high latency or packet loss environments. To reduce time-consuming compression and decompression processes before and after a file has been sent, FileCatalyst compresses files sent on the fly.  

TCP streaming acts as the solution’s functioning safety net, allowing file transfer acceleration to occur even when UDP is not possible. In addition, FileCatalyst supports delta transfer algorithms, which allows users to revise files and send just the revision made, versus the entire file. Once the revision arrives at its destination, the original file is modified.  

  • Large file sizes (ideally >4GB)

  • Can deploy client software to the end node (GoAnywhere MFT Agent or one of FileCatalyst' Client apps)
  1. Log in as a GoAnywhere Administrator
  2. Click on “Services / Service Manager” on the Left Menu
  3. Select the “Gear” icon beside FIleCatalyst and select “Start”
  4. To customize service, choose “Edit”
  5. Web Users should be modified to permit the “FileCatalyst” protocol. This is located under the “Features” tab of the Web User configuration.  
  6. Once enabled, clients can accelerate file transfers with any FileCatalyst Client application or use the FileCatalyst Task to transfer files between GoAnywhere Agents and GoAnywhere Server
