MediaSeal file security integrated into FileCatalyst accelerated file transfer

Posted on April 5, 2016 | Fast File Transfer

Unlimi-Tech Software Inc., an Emmy® award winning pioneer in managed file transfers and Fortium, a leading provider of film and entertainment content security solutions, are pleased to announce the integration of MediaSeal file encryption into FileCatalyst, a world leading accelerated file transfer solution to benefit a broader base of customers.

MediaSeal encryption at-rest is a unique file agnostic solution that extends the protection on media files so that they can remain protected after file transfer delivery enabling secure working environments. The integration with FileCatalyst accelerated data transfer will now enable users to send and receive digital content that is encrypted at-rest.

Mathew Gilliat-Smith CEO of Fortium said “We are delighted to be working with Unlimi-Tech to integrate MediaSeal into FileCatalyst which will benefit a much wider base of customers marrying speed with security. There are increasing instances of well publicized security breaches and furthering encryption through the workflow is an important measure to help prevention. This is a timely announcement for content owners, broadcasters and service providers at NAB”. He went on to say “Many content leaks are reported to be accidental rather than intentional and are often as a result of faster and more collaborative workflows. Incorporating security into existing transfer solutions makes it seamless and unobtrusive to the end user”.

FileCatalyst Direct is a suite of server and client applications that enables point to point accelerated file transfers at speeds of up to 10 Gbps. Utilizing the FileCatalyst UDP-based file transfer technology, FileCatalyst Direct is immune to the effects of packet loss and latency on a network. It can quickly deliver files of any size or format between cities, countries, and even continents.

“With the continuing requirements for global collaboration, accelerated file transfer capabilities are relied upon daily. Add to this the increasing risks of cybercrime, piracy and leaks caused by shared access, accidental distribution; the added value of file encryption to the workflow is obvious, said Chris Bailey, CEO / co-founder of Unlimi-Tech. MediaSeal encryption at-rest is designed to encrypt all types of media files during the editing and review stages of post-production and with this integration brings peace of mind to those using FileCatalyst’s file delivery solutions to transfer these valuable assets.”
